Aptigent's eLearning Practice in Action
In the summer of 2003, faculty and staff at Case Western Reserve University
(CWRU) envisioned an application that would assist the hundreds of students
in their fall semester's introductory chemistry course. Their goal was to
enhance the students' "true learning" of the subject matter.
Working closely with faculty and staff at CWRU, Aptigent developed the CHEM
105 eLearning application. Using this web-based application, students can
access content-rich course materials - including digital video of lectures,
the textbook, the syllabus, handouts, exam questions and the review
sessions - all on-line and on-demand!
The result is an outstanding set of supplemental teaching tools that has
enhanced the student learning process, enticed students to become more
involved with the course material, and led to more collaborative learning
between instructor and students.
After the sucess of the CHEM 105 application, the University will be using
that same technology for their introductory biology class, as well as the
sequel to CHEM 105 during the Spring 2004 semester.
